- For those blessed enough to be in NZ, Robert Jenson will be in Dunedin in March as the University of Otago’s Burns Lecturer. He is described by Wolfhart Pannenberg as, ‘one of the most original and knowledgeable theologians of our time’. While in Dunedin, Professor Jenson has kindly agreed to lead a half-day seminar at the Knox Centre on the subject of the Eucharistic Church being a Missional Church. It will be held on Friday 13 March, 9.30 am to 12pm. Because the seminar will be interactive we have set a limit of 30 people. The cost per person will be $25, this includes morning tea. He’s dead right about Benjamin Button. I thought it was a travesty (in spite of Cate Blanchett and the gorgeous cinematography, etc). The most notable thing about it is simply its extraordinary pretentiousness — and I can only guess that this pretentiousness is the reason for its 13 Oscar nominations…

I grew up not too far from Hatfield, PA in Horsham, PA. I’m not sure how to take your comment about people being unfortunate to live/be in the USA. It’s somewhat perplexing to be feeling defensive about your comment. I would ask you to consider not making remarks like that on your blog. I will consider trying to be less easily offended.

I live in America. Washington state to be specific. Where it’s now legal to have yourself euthanized if need be. Not only are we in the midst of a huge economic crisis where people are loosing their jobs and smaller businesses are having trouble keeping their doors open, but we now have federal funding for abortions. We’re also in the middle of a war in the middle east.
